Veteran ravers Orbital have been confirmed to headline the 2012 edition of the Berlin Festival. Running September 7-8 at the city’s former Tempelhof Airport (as tradition dictates), the popular contemporary music fest will also feature eclectic Icelanders Sigur Ros, Nicolas Jaar and WhoMadeWho, not to mention SBTRKT, Kate Nash and The Killers; further names across the genres of indie, electro, bass and house music will be announced in due course. Separately, official splinter event Club X-Berg, based at Berlin’s arenaclub, presents Modeselektor, Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs, Digitalism, Crookers and Dada Life.
